Green Meadows Petting Farm does have volunteer opportunities.  To see when we are interviewing, see the dates below.  



Green Meadows Petting Farm is looking for full and part time seasonal help for the spring and summer. Jobs include animal care and clean-up, administrative, tractor driver and general labor around the farm giving visitors a hands-on educational experience with animals.  No experience needed.  No smoking or tobacco use on the farm.

You can work 1 day or up to 5 days, during the week and/or weekend.  Our farm is perfect for senior citizens, retirees, stay-at-home moms or dads or anyone between jobs that can commit to a season.

Hours of Employment:  We are looking for early, late, all day or every day staff for the farm.

Salary:  Starting at $10.00 hourly, unless under 18 (pay to be determined by Ken).

Location:  Green Meadows Farm, 10102 Fingerboard Road, Ijamsville, MD  21754.

Spring 2019 Dates

We kick off the spring season on April 6th. We are open weekends only in April except for Easter Egg Hunt days of April 18 and 19.

Beginning May 1, we are open Wednesday through Sunday. 

Our last spring date is Saturday, May 25, 2019.

Interview Dates for Spring Employment/Volunteering:  We will hold interviews at the farm on Monday, April 1st at 1 pm and again at 4 pm.  PLEASE do not call for an appointment but just come out either time and be interviewed.

Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant needed for our petting farm office.  This position is responsible for ensuring efficient operation in our office and covers a variety of tasks related to organization and communication. 

Duties to Include, but not limited to:

  • Answer & direct phone calls, provide information for questions and requests
  • Event coordination (booking of vendors, sponsors, and/or services)
  • Maintain administrative systems
  • Reconcile expenses
  • Generate reports
  • Handle multiple projects
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, copying, printing, etc.


  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

Pay:  25k to 35k

Full and Part-Time Petting Farm Help 

Come join our fun petting farm team!  This job is ideal for retirees, stay at home moms, students and anyone else who loves the outdoors and animals such as horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, etc.  We are a non-smoking business.  We will provide all the training and materials about the animals. YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME! Not to worry – a college education and/or animal experience is not required for this job! Weekday and weekend positions are available. We prefer that you are available 2 or more days per week.

General Work Hours:       9am  to  2pm

Morning animal pen cleaning starting at 8am

Afternoon cleaning that goes until 4:30pm.

Salary: $10.00 hourly (starting).

Dates of Operation: 2019 dates not available at this time.

Set-Up Help:  We are looking for a few people to help set up this event beginning September 18.  If interested, please text or call Ken at 301-748-4971 to set up an early interview.

 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. ( This address is to the Fire/police station which the closest address to our farm)

You will pass the firehouse and police department on your left as you head into the park.  If anyone is in the guard shack, let them know you are here for an interview with the petting farm.  Proceed to Picnic Shelter #1.
